Diet to beat insomnia
Insomnia can be caused by a number of reasons, such as diet, stress, drugs or alcohol and even some emotions such as fear or dread.
Sometimes a person suffers from insomnia simply because he has an overactive mind and sometimes may not be able to sleep because of other physical reasons, such as excruciating pain. Whatever the reason is, to treat this sleep disorder is important to understand exactly what is causing it.
The first thing you do if you’re lying in bed, unable to sleep, is to determine whether there may be something you are doing throughout the day that may be causing your insomnia. For example, if you drink coffee until nine at night, no need to look further to find out what is causing your problem. Caffeine, mostly taken at night, has much of the blame for this sleep disorder. There are also certain foods that can keep you awake. If you are unsure about your diet, if you are consuming throughout the day may be causing your insomnia, some research or talk to a dietician. Take that last coffee you may be removing the hours of much needed rest and relaxation.
If you are taking medication, ask your doctor if the medicine may be causing your insomnia. Certain illegal drugs also cause insomnia, especially amphetamines. Alcohol is another factor that can cause this problem. It comes down to control exactly what is entering your body. In most cases, is what you are consuming what is causing your insomnia.
Of course, if you close an important meeting and are under great stress, or if you’re facing some sort of extreme guilt, or even if you’re really afraid of something, all these situations can also cause insomnia.
However, if you are free of tension, apart from the stress of being unable to sleep, try an experiment. Try eating different foods or try to eliminate certain things from your diet. If you suddenly find that you sleep like a baby, you’ve found the culprit. The key is to listen to your body. Your body needs sleep to recharge and you need to sleep so do not be so grumpy with coworkers in the morning. Do yourself a favor and discover what is causing your insomnia.
